hey lady!
i still can't feel my c-section area, either. sometimes when my pants are falling down, i can't even tell because that area is all numb. it's so weird. and a little gross. so, i completely understand where you're coming from. ugh.

what you need to find is a gym that is not die-hard crossfit, but sprinkles in some crossfit workouts and breaks away from the normal gym workout stuff. i can totally set you up with some at-home workouts that use a lot of funky stuff that get really great results. i'll start compiling.

i can definitely see that training for the marathon is all that you should be doing...and 100% straight crossfit is really hard on your body (my gym mixes crossfit with other less intense stuff) - what would be really great for you would be kettlebells. way more fun that regular weight lifting, and super great for core strength. i have a TON of kb workouts that i can send you if you get a couple bells!!

i would look a lot better if i got my diet under control. but i seriously love food waaay too much to not eat what i want. i'm just SO miserable when i deprive myself of things...i do have to shave a few pounds off for my competition in november...so, that should be interesting!!

get some kettlebells!

love

Jami- I cannot imagine doing all that stuff you do. I can hardly get myself going to run 3 miles lately (in trouble w/marathon). And I HATE going to the gym for weights, HATE IT!

The thing that sucks BAD with the abs? My entire lower abs are STILL completely NUMB from my c-section which makes it so hard/weird to do any ab exercises. It sucks so bad- all the ab muscles i had (they were buried in fat even before but at least they were there- i could feel them), are completely GONE and now it's NUMB! STILL!!! I hate it!!!!

I checked out a crossfit gym here and it's expensive! i want you to teach me some stuff i can do at home. i wanna learn that crazy house-frog-walk thing you did all over my house when you were here! You look freakin' fantastic, by the way, so keep it up, i'm so impressed!!!!! After the maranthon, i'm going to seriously consider getting into a crossfit place here. i don't think it would be recommended with marathon training (all the programs i've read about are weird about the "approved" cross training activities you should do due to increased chance of injury, etc). But, i def. need to tone-up.

okay, so i don't have the world's flattest tummy, but it's a hell of a lot flatter than it was a year ago. what have i been doing? eating whatever i want (within reason, and not giant huge amounts) and doing crossfit. we hang from bars and pull our knees up to our elbows, we put our feet in rings and pull them in towards our bellies. we strap wheels to our feet and use our hands to roll across the floor. we carry heavy, heavy balls for long distances, we do real situps (not crunches) while holding 35+ pounds up over our heads...and it totally, totally works. i had ZERO ab strength when i started, and now not only can i get my knees up to my elbows when hanging from a bar, but i can get my friggin' ankles up to the bar. oh, and i can totally do dead-hang pull-ups, but that's a different story.

of course, right now, my gut is kinda pudgy because we went out of town for the weekend and i literally (and i'm not kidding) ate two 1 lb bags of peanut butter m&m's myself...

but, seriously, my crazy gym has given me core strength that i never thought possible. although every day i hear my trainer (jokingly) say, "you can't out-work a shitty diet." i know that if i got my eating under control and didn't own a cupcake bakery i'd totally have like a 32 pack by now...

and, for the record, i think you look amazing. and i think you probably don't need to change a thing - although, if you want to change a thing, i know you can do it!!

love!

p dot s: when you come to portland, you have to come to the gym with me. maybe after the marathon though!
