Hi Shannon -
i have one more update for your list...

you mention nail clippers, but I just wanted to clue you in to the type that we use that I LOVE. at the start, we just used a baby-sized nail clipper, and I would be so nervous about clipping T's nails...Then I read an article about Tweezerman's baby clippers and hunted some down in portland - OMG, seriously the best clippers, ever. hands down. the best. period.

wow, shannon, your list was amazing, and JUST IN TIME for Heather to benefit from it! So much has changed in the 31 years since my 'baby' was born. where do you find the Trumpettes socks? Did you use the nursing tops with the slits? I heard they were great, but haven't found them anywhere. Give little LUCI a great big hug from OHIO

HOLY CRAP, Peter and I have a lot to learn!!! I think I'm finally starting to realize that there's actually going to be a baby in my home sooner rather than later (....Insert mild panic attack here....) ;-)

I know this will become our bible for all things pre/post Baby Bandy's arrival. REALLY cannot thank you enough for putting this together!!!! Lots of love! - J

A- I totally forgot about a good diaper bag! You are so right, I think one unisex one is a great idea. I can't tell you how many times I "forgot" the diaper bag at first. Uh, like the 1st ever Dr. appointment where we needed to change a poopy diaper. Yeah. We've gotten to the point where we have Craig's in the car at all times and then I have mine, too, just in case! Skip Hop bags have really cute designs, too!

Shannon, your list is SO comprehensive! This was a great refresher for the next time around.... The one thing I would add is a good, unisex diaper bag that stays packed all the time. We bought one from Skip Hop that looks like a messenger bag so both Ashley and I can carry it. While I would've preferred a prettier, purse-type bag, it was important to us not to have to have two bags ready to leave the house. Also, the Skip Hop bags are really sturdy. We got a dark-colored one and it's still in great shape 19 months later!

Hi Shannon!
Nice list!
One thing about wearable blankets:
1. My two year old still sleeps in these.
2. My two year old weighs over 35 lbs and
is over 3 feet tall, so I had to find the best
sleep sack (and, hello, I did!)

The Gro Bag!!
Comes in various weights and they have a great system based on room temp, pj weight, etc., so you know which weight to buy. Got mine on amazon, they are spendy, but super high quality and very comfy.

100% recommended.

Love!

shannie - you are so funny - i love lists, too - i always end up bombarding people with - "you have to get this and don't forget that, etc." i know i leave them just spinning with all the info i tried to unload on them!
i tell all my friends about the breast friend, too - that was so much better than the boppy! i use this wonderful sheet called the "ultimate crib sheet" - you have to look it up and get one or 4 like i have - it is awesome. if we did not have callie's exersaucer (that my sister let us borrow so we can give it right back - yes!) i don't know how we would get through the mornings. and, the trumpette socks - so cute and so right - they are really the only ones that stay on and they are so worth the money! the lansinoh cream - so right - i took a shit ton of snacks with me as well b/c of your list you told me before i delivered! you are a wealth of info - girly - that is so you - looking out for others!
also, i ended up renting a hospital grade pump b/c the one my friend gave me just did not pump very well - the hospital grade pump did so much better - i was frustrated at first - if i had only known how much easier it was with a decent pump i would have gotten it before i left the hospital - i will do that the next time.
love ya!
